Praying at all times

“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I find praying in the Spirit easy. I am grateful for this wonderful gift. I received it when I was 19 at a youth camp. During the services worship would invariably end in singing in the Spirit. I naturally went there with everyone else. I did not know what it was but it was beautiful. When an elder asked me if I had been baptised in the Spirit I asked what that was. When he explained it to me I said, “I think so”. I told him what was happening when we worshipped. He agreed.

There are times when I know I must wait on the Lord. During these times I do art and pray in the Spirit. I allow Him to pray through me. Right now is one of those times. He has burdens that I do not know about. However, I have the time and have told Him I am willing to pray and I do.

It is holiday season here in Nepal. My commitments are on hold. Therefore, I have plenty of time. I cannot waste it in entertainment. I cannot fritter it away in useless activities. Doing art allows my mind to be free from agitating passions. It allows my spirit to be free to pray and interceed.

There are many needs in our world and many the Lord is seeking to make His own. I can assist by prayer. Prayer is powerful and important. Amen!

Guard your heart

Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬ ‭TPT‬‬ I want to focus on the last sentence here, because it is explains why the first. I have an old friend who used to say to me, “Di let peace be your governor”. It was easier said than done. I was going through some very difficult times when he told me that. However, he was right. Yesterday was a difficult day in part. I had determined to give my body a day of rest. I walked several kilometres to church and attended the prayer meeting. Unfortunately, after the prayer meeting I was best by refugees wanting my help. It became very frustrating and by the time the service started my insides were a mess. Christ is enough

“For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬ In the book of Galatians Paul is addressing religiosity. The Galatians are being deceived into following a doctrine that tells them they must be circumcised as well as receiving Christ.  It is interesting that when people become convinced to be religious they then start destroying one another. Self-righteousness has that effect. We start to believe ‘I am so good, you are less than me because you do not do what I do!’ Paul’s whole message is Christ is enough! In Him is all the freedom we need. There is nothing more I can do to be a Christian. I must follow Him! Amen! Christ is enough for me!
