Brothers, I was not able to speak to you as spiritual people but as people of the flesh, as babies in Christ. I gave you milk to drink, not solid food, because you were not yet ready for it. Fancy been remembered for all time as fleshly believers! I know I was like this for the longest time. In fact I am sure there would have been those who wondered if I ever would walk in the Spirit. Yet God was faithful and brought me through. Being a baby christian I was trapped in fleshly behaviour: envy and strife were a part of my life. Strife comes when we endeavour to get what we think should be ours, and are not trusting the Lord for what really is ours. As I matured through reading the word and submitting to it and inviting the Holy Spirit to do His work in me I began to hunger for more of God, the deeper...

For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man that is in him? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God. We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom but in those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. But the unbeliever does not welcome what comes from God's Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated spiritually. The spiritual person, however, can evaluate everything, yet himself cannot be evaluated by anyone. For: 'who has known the Lord's mind that he may instruct Him? However, we do speak a wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age, or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. On the contrary, we speak God's hidden wisdom in a mystery, a wisdom predestined before the ages of our glory. None of the rulers of this age knew this wisdom, for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written: What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind- God prepared this for those who loved Him. When I came to you, brothers, announcing the testimony of God to you, I did not come with brilliance of speech or wisdom. For I didn't think it was a good idea to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I came to you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. Brothers, consider your calling: not many are wise from a human perspective, not many are powerful, not many of noble birth. Instead, God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world- what is viewed as nothing- to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one can boast in His presence. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is God's power to us who are being saved. For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will set aside the understanding of the experts. (Is 29:14) Where is the philosopher? Where is the scholar? For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers, by members of achloe's household, that there is rivalry among you. 1 Cor 1:10,11 Tonight I have my two sisters staying over, as our mother had a major operation yesterday and my sisters travelled from their homes to be in town to see mum. We cooked pizza together, had a glass of wine and played Rummiking. Three sisters playing games inevitably begin to disagree and we did, but had to come to agreement to move on. Fortunately we are mature enough to do so. There was a time when agreement would have been difficult to find. What caused the disagreement?
