I Urge You...

First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 1 Timothy 2:1‭-‬2 HCSB Paul says: First of all..... where does judgement and complaints begin? They do not appear to be mentioned. Yet i see them first on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In. Not only does Paul give one urging he gives 4 and they are not casual. A petition is not in any way casual. I suggest it is a heart-felt committment. We can dismiss prayers as casual, even though they are in an ardent grouping. Next he gives intercession. I do intercession. This one carries committment, God's heart and it in fact a heavy burden. Lastly we are urged to give thanksgiving. Paul lived in the time of some nastly Roman rulers. Paul was not treated kindly by many town or synagogue leanders. He was beaten and left for dead. Have you been treated like this? Are...

Great Things

“The Lord who made the earth, the Lord who forms it to establish it, Yahweh is His name, says this: Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know. Jeremiah 33:2,3 Here we have God saying He formed the earth. No matter what clever men say, they are wrong and they cannot dismiss the great I AM. I awake in the middle of the night praying for souls and the Lord is encouraging me to ask for mighty things. Yesterday we struggled to find an address, on foot, in filthy, Kathmandu. We had to find a man to pay for earth bags this man could not understand mt friend's English. Our phones wwre low in battery and we needed help. I prayed for an Englisg speaking young Nepali and got one. He came up to me, our of the blue, dressed in blue. I knew it was God and sensed an angelic visitation. He gave us explicit directions and left. We found our man, paid the bill and left. We struggled to find transport back to where we were staying. Again...

Lift up Your voices

Shout triumphantly to the Lord , all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Acknowledge that Yahweh is God. He made us, and we are His — His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For Yahweh is good, and His love is eternal; His faithfulness endures through all generations. Psalms 100:1‭-‬5 HCSB This Psalm has many commands: Shout triumphantly - we have all experienced winning and know what this looks like. We are on God's team. Whilst away on a trek recently i was involved in a basketball game and happened to be on the winning team. Each time a badket was shot I went into an excited little display of victory. My God deserves this shout. I am staying with a Christian organization at present and they are ministering to village people from Nepal- people are coming to know Christ- that deserves a victory shout! Amen! Serve the Lord with gladn...

God's Peace

Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19‭-‬20 HCSB Having a battle with lust, anger, murderous thoughts, hate and envy are very heavy whwn we are made to be a temple of peace and rest in the Holy Ghost. I am currently staying in a Christian compound owned by the Samaritan's Purse. I am occupying a room called peace but the last two nights have been filled with all manner of bad dreams and compulsions. I stayed in this room before and had a peaceful time. At present the organisation has visitors from villages in the mountains. Some are unsaved or newly saved. I believe I have experienced that which is troubling one of the villagers. My dreams were filled with murder and disposing of bodies horribly. Carrying guilt for the past or being troubled by demons is not an attractive prospect. We are called, as Chri...

Loving God's Way

Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not conceited, does not act improperly, is not selfish, is not provoked, and does not keep a record of wrongs. 1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬5 HCSB God's love is not emotional, yet it can be felt. It is solid, eternal, true and uncompromising. Yesterday I said goodbye to the young men we took treking with us. I had grown to love them and appreciate them. I want the best for them and most of all I want Christ for them. Human love tends to spoil, act selfishly and depends on feelings. I remember, as a mother, i was emotionally attached to my children and was inclined to spoil them with gifts. I think i perhaps over did it at times. As my children grew up i had to learn to separate my emotions from them and allow them to leave and cleave to their spouse. As they brought children into the world I became emotionally attached to them but again realised they were not mine and emotional attachment was not good for them o...

Be Steadfast

September 25 Therefore, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58 HCSB Being steadfast means you are consistent, walking in the Spirit not allowing the flesh room. Whilst this is indeed a challenge it is not impossible if you stay close to the Lord and keep Him as your focus. As we allow things and people of this world room to aggravate us and give our flesh permission to react we become unsteady and wobble. Immoveability, (new world folks) means you are unable to be toppled by the enemy of your souls. No matter what he brings against you, you cling to Christ tighter. Yes you feel what comes against you but you resolve to seek Christ and His ways. Then, you will excell in the Lord's work. Christ set His face like a flint towards Calvary. His purpose was to redeem us back. Yes He spent three years displaying the Father's true heart, so we would know what and why ...

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

September 24 For it was You who created my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well. Psalms 139:13‭-‬14 HCSB I have seen many cripples since being in Nepal. Two I prayed for, the rest I didn't. How does a cripple praise the Lord for how they are made? Could they say - "I am fearfully and wonderfully made? Many are beggars but one I remember who, surprisingly was not. He had a stump on one leg yet he was very agile and busily shopping for himself in the marketplace, no failure here. A resourceful, active member of his community. What made the difference? Being able to rejoice in all circumstances requires faith, lack of self-pity, humility, and hope for the future. I have prayed for years for the healing of my hearing and not received an answer. I will still seek healing but in the meantime, I will rejoice for I am still fearfully an...
