Shameless Persistence

So I say to you,ask and keep on asking and it shall be given to you, seek and keep on seeking and you shall find, knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you. Luke 11:9

This passage comes after the 'Lord's prayer'. Jesus had told the disciples the format, then He goes on to tell about the attitude that receives.

Today I spent the day with my grandchildren. Children are persistent, some stubornly so. My grandson Ryan is 2 and from when he could speak he decided that his older brother should be Bob, not Myer. Today Myer informed me that it is now Buffalo Bob. I laughed and laughed. Ryan had won, Myer had fought against being called Bob, so creatively he assisted Ryan to call him a name he thought worthy of him, 'Buffalo Bob'.

Ryan's stubborn tenacity has a down side as well. He lets you know when he does not like his punishment. Fortunately my son and his wife are more tenacious and are determined to mould little Ryan. As I went out to my car Ryan decided he was coming with me, again the stubborn little man was set in his purpose. I believe this little man will be a great man of God and I plan to play my part in moulding him. Since the day he was born we had a bond, perhaps even before as his life was threatened in utero and I interceeded for him. What fun it is to be involved in training up a child in the way they should go.

I have found my tenacity as well. I press in and press in and press in to God for mine. Today, child number 4 had it's little life threatened. I prayed for this little person as I am looking forward to helping mould this life as well. What an honour.

Our God loves tenaciously, He doesn't give up and we are His kids. We can't give up. I would not let my mind go to the possibility of miscarriage, it did not figure in the equation, there was no such option. God does not sit around contemplating failure, it is not a part of His world, He believes, He lives in faith. we can also.
