Kingdom of Faith
Ephesians 2:19 (MSG) This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You're no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here....
The Kindom of faith is sure a strange place, a place of rest and trust. It is foreign to every other kingdom.
The Kingdom of self makes it all about ME. What I am doing, what I can do, how I am doing, how successful I am, how I fulfill me yardy yardy ya.
The Kingdom of God is about Him, fulfilling His plans, His wishes, forgetting me. In this Kingdom there are heroes gone before; Abraham, Sarah, Noah, Moses, David, Isaiah, Elijah, Elisha, Jeremiah, Ruth, Mary and the list goes on.
Imagine having an angel turn up and tell you you were going to become pregnant with the saviour of the world. Absolutely everyone would think you were nuts. They would think you were promiscuous and had a child out of wedlock, no respect there.
Where was the angel when you had to travel all the way to Bethlehem in the freezing cold, to find there was nowhere to stay and you end up in a stable to give birth, where was God then?
Faith does not make sense, to walk in it takes humility, because you will be humbled because everyone will think you are crazy.
I appear as someone who can't get my working life together yet am constrained to stay where I am. I am totally reliant on God for provision. The trouble is I know I can do things, I am employable and do have a job with an employer who doesn't show until after midday, is bogged down by too many other things to be efficient, insists that everything I do goes by his desk, but this is where God wants me. AAGH!
I have tried to leave, had interviews but nothing. He has shut doors and left only one open.
I wonder if Abraham ever got frustrated waiting for his promised son? Abraham created his own son but God said 'NO!'
I wonder if Noah ever doubted in the 100 years he waited while building a boat inland, did he ever doubt?
I am not alone! I am surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses who encourage me on, they have all gone before me and finally saw the promise. Amen!
