Confidence
Hebrews 10:22-23 (MSG) So let's do it—full of belief, confident that we're presentable inside and out. Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word.
I have several girlfriends who are at varying stages of walking into something God has promised them and we encourage one another in our faith.
When God gives us a word and a promise, no matter how unbelievable it is, He fully intends to bring it to pass. When the angel Gabriel visited Mary he had news that blew her away. She, a virgin, was to have a son without the help of a man.
The Lord chooses to bring His word to pass without intervention of others so that He can display His glory and reveal His nature to the promised. This is a love that we don not understand.
To receive what has been promised it is important that the mind is corralled and made submit to the word of God, this in itself is no easy feat but with God all things are possible.
Focus, not on what has been promised but on the one who promises is vital. When we gaze at what has been promised we find flesh and with it all the problems associated with the transition. Yet when we gaze on God we see spirit and truth, life and hope.
If I happen to wake in the night then my mind wants to go churning, but what about this, what about that. I have learned to discipline my mind, I take it fishing.
I refuse to give it room to go to the problem or the provision and instead I go to a memory from childhood when I went camping with my grandfather and we went fishing. I hear the sounds, smell the smells of yesteryear and it puts me to sleep.
In walking the walk of Christ we must choose a disciplined mind, it or circumstances cannot rule. Our minds fixed in Christ are life and peace. Amen!
