How Good is Grace

You are saved by grace! Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens, so that in coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift- Ephesians 2:5-9

I am so, so grateful that I do not have to earn my salvation. Jesus was perfect and he paid the perfect sacrifice so that I can live in the results of that grace, freedom, exaltation and relationship.

I don't know about you but every time I feel self-righteous I have been doing something to earn my salvation. It stinks and I have to repent because there is nothing I can do that comes near what He has done. I cannot crucify Him again or say His sacrifice does not cut it.

The difference is I am saved for good works. I am set free from having to earn my salvation so that I can, in freedom, be His ambassador. I have something I am meant to do in the Kingdom of God. All earth waits in longing for the revealing of the 'sons of God'.

As I step into who I am meant to be I become a functioning part of His body. There are hungry souls out there who need me in their world to be just who I am in Christ.

As I can say 'it is no longer I who lives but Christ who lives in me' the lost taste the goodness of God, they are fed what they need. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
