Only One

There is one body and one spirit -just as you were called to one hope at your calling - one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:4-6

There are seven ones in this passage. In an age when men seek to add ones there is only seven and they all come from God.

There is only one body and one spirit, nothing else. We are called to awaken to who we are, what we were created for and this is it, one body and one spirit. I cannot bring anything with me or import anything along the way, there is no room for there is One.

There is one hope. My hope is my calling and what my God sees my future to be. I am sure this raises the ire of any who want a say. It is like the pot on the potter's wheel saying 'no you are making me wrong, I want to be a flute not a pan.'

As  walk in the hope of my calling I am fulfilled, blessed, completed.

One Lord, one faith, one baptism. There is only one saviour. Jesus said 'I am the way, the truth and the life no man comes to the Father but by me.' These are not innocuous words, these are words of power. Without relationship we shall not pass. By these words Jesus stands in the way and is in fact the doorway.

I am reminded of Gandalf in the mines of Moriah. He was standing in the way of the beast who wanted to kill and destroy. Gandalf shouted 'You shall not pass', and thrust his staff into the overpass, the path disintegrated and the beast fell. This, I believe, is a type of Christ for the beast had a whip and as he fell he caught Galdalf's foot and dragged him down into the depths of hell where they fought and finally the beast was destroyed.

Finally, 'one God and father of all'. Only one, only ever has been one only ever will be one, One God.

The deceiver would have us believe there are many but there isn't. There is only One and He is so splendid and has so many facets to Him we will forever and ever be discovering His beauty.

Dare to try Him today and discover all He wants is your heart and then as you give Him your heart He gives you His and He is awesome, you will never regret His love.
