Ready to Yield

Therefore I say this and testify in the Lord; You should no longer walk as the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their thought, they are darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them and because of the hardness of their hearts. Ephesians 4:37,38

I remember being like this. Futility of thought is a horrible place to be, especially when you know that is where you are and you want to get out.

Before I came to a knowledge of having Christ live in my heart I was not content and I was hungry and searching, but insisting it be my way. As this was not going to work my God had to take me to a place of not insisting and yieldedness to His way, then I was ready.

I knew I was missing out on the life of God. I would read my bible and it was like hitting a brick wall, it did not penetrate. I loved my bible but it did not compute because I was reading it with eyes of futility.

Once I asked Christ into my heart I understood the words, they became life to me, I became one with the Word.

The hardness in my heart came from my insistence that coming to Christ happen on my terms. That does not work. The Word of God stands on its terms as freedom is not found in bondage but in deliverance from bondage.

I will forever be grateful that Christ did not yield and compromise the gospel. The gospel stands as it is, pure and undefiled and therefore able to set men and women free. Amen!
