Truth

But this is not how you learned about the Messiah (referring to previous 3 verses), assuming you heard about Him and were taught by Him, because the truth is in Jesus. You took off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires; you are renewed in the spirit of your minds; you put on the new self, the one created according to God's likeness in righteousness and purity of truth. Eph 4:20-24

Currently we are seeing rioting in England. This is a fruit off a bad tree. All the youth involved in the riots have walked in a way that is not truth, they have not been taught truth, they have been dished up lies and now they are living out those lies.

When Jesus Christ comes into a situation truth comes. If we live in and respect truth we see the big picture, we know we are loved and we walk in love.

Salvation is what we need and the grace that comes in salvation enables us to live right. At salvation we choose to take off the old way of living and put on the new. Daily we must choose Christ and put on the garment of salvation and not rummage around in the bin for the old garment.

When we, in society, choose our own truth and build our society structure around our own truth then the day comes when the walls fall down. This is happening in our money markets.

We will see it in our own lives. We will hear our own mouths condemn others and our heart will say 'huh?' Where did the bad comes from, it is hidden away in our hearts, that piece of self-righteousness comes out to bear fruit.

Our former self is corrupted by deceitful desires however our new self lives for the purity of truth and this is where the life is. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
