Bread Of Life

(Jesus said) "I am the bread of life. Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. The bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."

In John chapter 1 we are told that Jesus is the word of God, now He is saying He is the bread of life. Now I know He did not literally mean we should eat His flesh yet I do know that I must take ALL of Him, not just the bits that suit.

Jesus was giving His very flesh up to be treated shamefully, for you and me. I cannot deny that He died for my sin or I again crucify Him. I cannot live as if His sacrifice was not enough or I spit in His face.

The price of sin was death, yet the killing of thousands of animals could not purge away sin, but the sinless sacrifice did it all.

In Jesus was and is life, all of Him represents God in the flesh.

When I see human behaviour that is totally disgusting, Jesus stands by and says, "I can redeem that person." He sees what I cannot, His love covers all sin.

What do I need to do? Release that person to Christ and praise Him for the power of redemption. He is able to do all things, He is able to save all who come to Him.

'for the Lord our God is able, lifted up He defeated the grave, raised to life our God is able....'(song)

He is asking me to trust Him. amen!
