God Filters

Jesus said to them, "if God were your Father you would love Me, because I came from God and I am here. For I did not come on my own but He sent Me. Why don't you understand what I say?  Because you cannot listen to My word.
You are of your father the devil and want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.
Yet because I speak the truth you do not believe Me." John 8:42-45

This is a hard truth. Why am I sharing it? Perhaps because we need to be tougher and accept the truth.

I heard a good message from John Bevere two nights ago. He said that many Christians have filters on when they read the word of God.

I believe this is true. We have a vanilla flavoured version when wanting to do things our way and a 'Epicac' (stuff that makes you vomit) version when we wish to complain. In other words, a 'god filter'.

A god filter is something the Devil is good at, because he is the father of all lies, as the scripture above states. When we change the word of God we use the 'lie principle'. We are in fact saying, 'no my truth is more accurate.'

If the Word of God says something is wrong, it is wrong. If the Word of God says something is right, it is right. The word must be pure and unadulterated, full stop! I cannot massage it into 'my truth', because then it would be the source of lies.

What is wrong with the whole truth, if that is where a relationship with Christ lives? When I move away from Him lies become more palatable. if I find lies palatable then I am far from Him and need to repent and get back where I belong.
