Mercy

Honest scales and balances are from the Lord; all the weights in the bag are of His making. Proverbs 16:11

The lord knows what is 'fair'. Children say one phrase more than most: 'that is not fair'. From a young age a desire for fairness is present. Mind you their view is heavily tainted with self-interest.

As I do life I meter out payments: for work done; discipline for wrong doing; forgiveness for offenses made. My concern is justice. If I do not know what is just there is one who does.

This verse tells me: 'all the weights in the bag are of His making'.

When it comes my turn to receive justice, sometimes it will hurt, I ask for mercy and receive it, sometimes I must wear the cost.

I have asked the police department for mercy in regard to fines when I know my heart had been to do right, and been absolved.

The lord knows the heart and so I can go to His court and ask for mercy. Amen!
