Authority

Then He went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbath. They were astonished at His teaching because His message had authority. Luke 4:31

I remember being asked, after preaching a message at church, 'where did you get that from? that was really good!' I replied, 'I waited on God and spoke what He gave me.'

I had a period of time where I was able to preach regularly and enjoyed delivering what the Holy Spirit gave me.

My footnotes in my bible said that probably the reason the crowd saw an authority in what Jesus spoke was because He spoke what the Holy Spirit gave him.

Real authority comes from God; we can mock our own authority but it fails miserably, as did the Scribes and Pharisees.

God's word breaks the yolk, sets captives free, it never fails.
