You are my beloved Son. I take my delight in You! Luke 3:22b
When Jesus came up out of the waters of baptism He heard the above words.
When we say 'yes' to Jesus He says the same to us because He sees us through His Son.
If He took delight in Jesus what did that look like? He certainly was not spoilt. He was born in a manger with smelly animals, he was chased by a mad King who was jealous when he was just a babe, he grew up in a carpenters house as an illegitimate child.
So what may we expect? To walk the walk and talk the talk in obedience to the calling each if us have in Christ. The Father protected Jesus and the only time He suffered harm was when He chose to fulfil His destiny as saviour of the world. The Father raised Him from the dead an seated him at his right hand in the heavenlies.
I can trust the Father to take care if all I give Him, to protect me from evil and provide for my needs.
