Brand New

You took off your former ways of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires; you are being renewed in the spirit of your minds; you put on the new self, the one created according to God's likeness in righteousness and purity of truth. Ephesians 4:22-24

When I arrived home today, after a long drive and stopping to visit family in Armidale, drop by the office for 1 hour, I was hot and sticky and wanted nothing more than to remove my hot clothes and have a swim.

Much the same we take off our stinky fleshly garments of a life apart from Christ and upon being washed by Him we put on a new self, our new man. We become new creatures.

Ever heard the saying: 'you scrub up well'? Probably an Aussie saying. It is a comment usually given after someone takes time to shower and dress nicely, especially when they don't dress up often.

As a Christian I take off all the old, at salvation and am baptized and all my sins have been washed away, I rise out of the water a brand new person in Christ.
