Established in Love

I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the length and width, height and depth of God's love Ephesians 3:17,18

Being rooted and firmly established in love is a process. Firstly we have to choose Christ. When we do we have to choose to be planted in His love. A seedling left lying on a garden bed and unplanted will die as it needs to have its roots in the soil.

Secondly we must choose to stay in His love. Offense will come and try to remove us. When it does we have a choice. If offense removes us we are left to die on the garden bed.

Thirdly we need to become firmly established. This means we choose to submit to Godly authority. In any garden there are other plants and a gardener. The gardened tends to us, prunes us, fertilizes us. This means discipline. Again the robber will try and come and try to remove us. Rebellion, anger, resentment will all have a try at dislodging us. Do we recognize what is happening or do we react?

The ultimate choice is: life or death. That is all there is. Today choose life that you might live and trust Him, His love is consistent and never leaves. Amen!
