Because of God's merciful compassion, the Dawn from on high will visit us to shine on those who live in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. Luke 1:78,79
Today we prepare to celebrate the coming of 'The Dawn'. Into the darkness came a light filled with hope and promise.
At times I experience a foretaste of the promise and my spirit rejoices but then a time must elapse before it is revealed.
The hope came but was hidden for 30 years. During that time those that witnessed the coming would be tested in believing. Even after his coming those who knew Him were tested.
John the Baptist send word to Jesus: ' are you the One who is to come, or should we look for someone else?' Luke 6:18,19
John was in prison and being sorely tested in his faith.
So many expected Jesus to deliver Israel from its enemies, John was no different and if we look at his father, Zechariah's prophesy in Luke 1::68-79 we understand.
So many will look to Christmas and hope for something other than what will be. So many will be disappointed. Yet, tomorrow is a day when we remember Christ came, as a helpless babe into the darkness.
Christ came to guide our feet to the way of peace. He came to open the door to the Father, offering sweet fellowship.
I am so grateful to know Him, I am so grateful that He came. Thank You Lord! Amen!
