Are You Ready?

Be ready for service and have your lamps lit. You must be like people waiting for their master to return from the wedding banquet so that when He comes and knocks, they can open the door for him at once. Those slaves the master finds alert when he comes will be blessed. I assure you He will get ready, have them recline at table, then come and serve them. If he comes in the middle if the night, or even near dawn, and finds them alert, those slaves are blessed. But know this: if the homeowner had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would have not let his house be broken into. You also be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you least expect." Luke 12:35-40

The thief works with an element of surprise. I have experienced this. A thief broke into my home when I was out an trashed the place and took what I valued most, an heirloom my mother had given me. It had sentimental value to me.

That aside, Jesus is saying, just like the thief He will turn up when we least expect Him.

If I am always ready to serve Him and vigilant then my reward is great. Conversely if I have been totally seduced by the world and living for it, I will be looking the other way, in fact I may not be present. How sad!

My God has a task for me to perform and I am diligently making ready. What is your task? Are you ready?

Jesus wants to invade our world, come in and bless us as He finds us prepared. I am wanting that, how about you?

I love nothing more than to work with Him, His projects are best! Amen!
