Christ my Treasure

He also said, "a man had two sons, the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the share of the estate I have coming to me. So he distributed the assets to them. Not many days later, the younger son gathered together all he had and travelled to a distant country, where he squandered his estate in foolish living.
Luke 15:11-13

How many come to Christ, receive His Holy Spirit and go away feeling clean, feeling real good and squander all that glory on wasteful living?

When we receive Christ we are given a pearl of great price, not to lock away, to sell but to open and partake and learn how to live as one who has found treasure.

Finding Christ is finding a doorway to eternity. He is the beginning of all things good. He is the source of wisdom, He is the centre of peace, He is the home of grace, mercy and forgiveness. All this and more is in salvation.

He is the path to life, the heart of God!

Throwing away Christ is like man who bought some property that was filled with oil but because he didn't like the black sludge that oozed out of the ground and spoiled his potatoes, he sold the land for a pittance. However, the man who bought it was wise, he suspected that sludge was important and had a geophysicist come and give his opinion and to his delight discovered his treasure.

That man knew value and respected it and then mined it looking for its worth.

Christ is a treasure trove, full if all God's abundance, dig in and unpack all He offers. Amen!
