Evil Intent

They (scribes and pharisees) watched closely and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, so they could catch Him in what He said, to hand Him over to the governor's rule and authority. Luke 20:20

Isn't it funny that devious and deceitful people think they can escape notice? They actually deceive themselves!

These leaders had evil intent and a truly righteous person, which Jesus was, could smell them a mile away.

I am not Jesus and I can smell evil. It is not rocked science.

If you observe people you can tell a liar in the making by the way they behave; you can tell when people feel they are doing something important by the way the busy themselves, stand taller and have a look of determined focus on their faces.

Today I happened to go past the council building and there were people coming and going with a look of importance upon them, they were attending a significant meeting. The icing on the cake was a woman carrying a large tray of scones, with cream and jam applied.

Yet the foolish Pharisees thought they could fein righteousness. They failed and had another humiliating lesson.
