Marriage
The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then, the good news of the Kingdom of God has been proclaimed, and everyone is strongly urged to enter it
But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter in the law to drop out.
Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman ( except on the grounds of unfaithfulness Matt 5: 32)
commits adultery, and everyone who marries a divorced woman ( unless her husband committed adultery) commits adultery. Luke 16:16-18
More and more the Christians are adopting the ways of the world, throwaway marriages. The statistics show that 67%of second marriages fail; 73% of third marriages fail and yet even is Australia people keep going back, looking for a miracle. Yet the miracle is not in a new person, necessarily, but healing and change in behavior that troubled the first.
I personally know the pressure and need to be held, listened to and the desire to be sharing life, but I also am witness to the many who think there is nothing wrong with them and they must find a better match.
Always, there is something wrong with us. Always we have our own sin to recognize. Always we must seek God and find His answers and if we do, the marriage broken can be restored, if not too late.
Marriage is not a bad meal, an unpleasing car, it is a commitment for life. I am a divorcee and remain single even though I am able to remarry. The longer I wait the more whole I become and the more my focus changes. I now understand waiting for God. I am content. I am having wholesome fun.
If there are children and grandchildren from a marriage, they deserve the best. They do not need to see parents/grandparents behaving badly. They do not need grandparents bringing strangers into their worlds just because the grandparent wants to 'feel' good.
Feeling good does not last long. It ends as soon as the parties involved repeat their folly, and unless insight has been bought and wisdom implemented, off they go again.
