My Time Has Come

Then He took the twelve aside and told them, "Listen! We are going up to Jerusalem. Everything that is written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. For He will be handed over to the Gentiles, and He will be mocked, insulted, spit upon, and after they flog Him, they will kill Him, and He will rise on the third day."
They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them and they did not grasp what was said. Luke 18:31-34

If Jesus knew the details as to what was going to happen to Him, then He would have know that what He was sharing with them they did not grasp. Why did He bother? What is it about relationship He knows that we do not?

Jesus treated the disciples with respect even though He knew their limitations. There would come a time when the lights went on, an "ah huh!!" moment.

What patience, what grace!

I have been following an astronaut who is photographing earth from the space station, what beautiful pictures. His name is Chris Hadfield and you can find him on Twitter. His pictures have given new meaning to perspective for me.

I have been lifted out of my little box and am hungry for more, much more. 'The things of earth have grown strangely dim'.

Jesus saw the big picture. It was not just about travelling around in the dust ministering to a few hundred souls, it was much more. He was about to reunite the whole of mankind: past, present and future, with His Father.

When we become so rapt up in our own little worlds and become fiercely defensive of it, we miss the grand design. It is not about the car, the girl, the house, the trip. It is about eternity. Eternity awaits us and I so long to be there. Get the view from space and beyond. what is His plan?
