Adoption

So then, family, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh, for if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. All those led by God's Spirit are God's family. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, "Abba Father!" Romans 8:12-15
 
Today we celebrate Christ's rising from the dead. Jesus walked the walk and talked the talk. He showed us what being a Son of God was all about. He was steadfast and only did what He saw His Father do. Now we all know this meant His Heavenly Father. To do this He had to do what we have to do, walk in the Spirit because He was a man just like us except He was not born into sin.
 
Of all the things the Lord speaks to me about it is:"Look at Me!" In other words 'don't try and work things out yourself, look at Me!'
 
I have to absorb the above scripture, meditate on it, allow it to become a part of me. Amen!
 
What is He doing in my world today? What would He have me do, today?
 
Today is Resurrection Sunday. Today we have an opportunity to walk in newness of life. If I am saved from a life of slavery then I do not live as a slave. His Spirit is the power of God in me to overcome. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
