Preparation

During the day, He was teaching in the temple complex, but in the evening He would go out and spend the night on what is called the 'Mount of Olives'. Then all the people would come early in the morning to hear Him in the temple complex. Luke 21:37,38
 
What was Jesus doing on the Mount of Olives? My guess is spending time with the Father. He had two things happening: The teaching daily in the Temple and the Cross was pending.
 
I have to spend time with the Lord. He is my source of inspiration, energy, peace, wisdom to name a few. His grace abounds but I must go and collect it before it becomes of any use to me.
 
During the week days I am working as a planner. On the weekend I have time to myself but each morning and evening I spend time with Him. When I am tired I spend more time with Him; when I am in a battle I spend more time with Him; when I am ministering I spend more time with Him.
 
Pastor Phil Pringle says that to minister over several days effectively, with energy, you need to spend time loading up on grace (my interpretation). The longer the ministry the longer the preparation time.
 
I want to be effective, don't you?

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
