Father Abraham
Now the Scripture saw in advance that God would justify the Gentiles by faith and told the good news ahead of time to Abraham, saying, 'all the nations will be blessed through you'. So those who have faith are blessed with Abraham, who had faith. Galatians 3:8,9
How cool is this? The whole bible is interwoven by a wondrous God. Way back, thousands of years ago, God developed a relationship with an ordinary man called Abraham who was willing to follow God from his comfortable home out to a land where, for all the remaining years of his life he lived in a tent. God promised the 75 year old man that he would be a father of many nations when he had no natural children if his own.
God really tested Abraham but he became a man of faith and he believed that God's promise would come to pass, and it did, 25 years later.
Now Abraham was a man of faith and therefore our forefather because we are asked to accept the salvation Christ offers us, by faith.
Abraham had to learn that there was nothing he could do to bring his miracle to pass and we have to learn that our salvation is free, there is absolutely nothing we can do to earn it. Amen!
We are connected to Abraham through our operation of faith and so therefore are one and the same, we are related.
Therefore, all Abraham had is ours, and more because we have the promised relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Amen!
