Revenge or Justice?

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Try to do what is honourable in every one's eyes. Romans 12:17
 
Currently, In Australia there is a series running on TV called Revenge. I do not watch it but have seen glimpses. What sort of message is this sending?
 
My bible tells me that God says vengeance is His. In other words revenge is not for me to contemplate.
 
When something unfair, unreasonable, unjust happens anger rises up in me and frustration that I do not know what to do, until I come to my senses. I have to give it over and pray and trust.
 
I have seen God's vengeance as I yield the right and what He does I could not orchestrate, but it is Him.
 
If I entertain evil, then I have become a prisoner of evil thoughts and potentially evil practices. My insides then begin to rot.
 
To do what is honourable, that is, turn the other cheek, speaks volumes to onlookers. I did that once and my mother saw me and commended me. I did not think I was winning by turning the other cheek but then God's ways are higher than mine.
 
By turning the other cheek, I do what is honourable to the perpetrator and they are then captured by righteousness and it troubles them.
 
Let's try living God's ways and watch Him be GOD on our behalf. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
