Great Strength

May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints inheritance in the light. Colossians 1:11,12

Our strength comes from Him, not ourselves. We are a conductor of His power but He is the supplier. So when I need power I go to him for a recharge.

This power, that He gives, gives me the ability to endure with joy. Notice He doesn't take the pain away, He gives strength to endure.

Endurance has thanksgiving wrapt up in it. Much like those Greek vine leaves wrapped around tasty goats cheese. 

This endurance brings a reward, a share in the saints inheritance. How good is that? Awesome!

So, right now, plug in to His glorious power! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
