Anna

There was also a prophetess, Anna, a daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was well along in years, having lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and a widow for 84 years. She did not leave the temple complex, serving God night and day with fasting and prayers. At that very moment, she came up and began to thank God and to speak about Him to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. Luke 2:36-38

Praise God for Luke's mention of Anna. Here was a woman in top heavy male dominate Jewish religion. A woman who was dedicated to God and served Him night and day. What a woman! This woman was well over 100 yet she stayed in the temple complex serving God with fasting and prayer. She did not think herself too frail to fast, we need to see her testimony.

Widows and divorcees can find themselves in such a position. It is good to dedicate ourselves to The Lord instead of gossip and wasting our time and the time of others. To know The Lord, really know Him and live in His word and be dedicated to fasting and prayer will be of service to the world we live in. This is much better than a life in front of the TV.

Many souls come to Christ because someone prayed for them. Praying God's kingdom come instead of our kingdom  come see miracles and changed lives. Don't despise your prayers! Don't belittle your value! Take up the battle in prayer and fasting and see God move! Amen!.
