The Source of Life

Then He showed me the river of living water, sparkling like crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb down the middle of the broad street of the city. The tree of life was on both sides of the river, bearing 12 kinds of fruit, producing its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree are for healing the nations, and there will no longer be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and His slaves will serve Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. Night and day will no longer exist, and people will not need lamplight or sunlight, because The Lord God will give them light. And they will reign forever and ever. Revelation 22:1-5

We see a river in Ezekiel47:1-12 and on the banks there were trees whose leaves were for healing. The tree of life was last mentioned in Genesis 3. Mankind were forbidden from eating from it's fruit after the fall but now it has returned.

It appears we will still eat and drink and although the curse of sickness has gone we will eat from the tree for invigoration and whole ness, much like Adam and Eve did in the beginning.

This is a story of restoration, finally the relationship mankind once had is restored. I wonder what Adam will think?

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
