The Voice
Now all the people were waiting expectantly, and all of them were debating in their minds whether John might be the Messiah. John answered them all, "I baptise you with water, but One is coming who is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to untie the strap of His sandals. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing shovel is in His hand to clear His threshing floor and gather the wheat into His barn, but the chaff He will burn up with a fire that never goes out. Then along with many other exhortations, he proclaimed good news to the people. Luke 3:15-18
John was a good hell fire and brimstone guy. He said it like it was and shook the people out of their apathy and made them ready for Jesus. Imagine being called a brood of vipers, the people responded and asked what they must do to show repentance.
John knew his place. He came for a short season. His whole life lead up to the time when the Father gave Him the word to go, he was primed and ready. Are you ready? I am! my rubber band is twisted up ready to launch.
Yesterday I went to see a client who's husband has been diagnosed with renal cancer, I told her I would pray, and I did. Two weeks ago I prayed for another couple who have cancer in their home. Today I met a man I had prayed for who had pancreatic cancer. I did not recognise him, he is a totally changed man. He thanked me for my prayers as he is doing well.
Last week I had a client call and complain about no rain. I told him I would do some knee time, and I did, and it rained.
We have opportunities if we will just step into them and be the light of the world. Tomorrow may be my last and I want to hear, "We'll done!"
People are waiting expectantly for the revealing of the sons and daughters of God. De-cloak yourself! Be who you are made to be! Amen!
