A Show or A Relationship

Finding that Jesus was under Herod's jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem during those days. Herod was very glad to see Jesus; for a long time he had wanted to see Him because he had heard about Him and was hoping to see some miracle performed by Him. Luke 23:7,8

Many people wanted to meet Jesus and for many different reasons. Some come to church to see something because their interest has been piqued. However, some go away changed and some unchanged. It depends on the heart of the person.

We may judge from the outside but God sees within. There may be a hunger that nothing satisfies or there could be complete disinterest or disregard. There were members of the Sanhedrin who had met The Lord and were hungry for more, their hearts were open. There were the sick who wanted healing. Some saw more than healing, some saw the love that was outstretched to them and took that love.

There were ordinary fishermen who Jesus called to follow Him. Only one called himself the disciple Jesus loved. All were loved equally but not all responded equally. John was able to understand the love of God for him and this revelation is reflected in the whole gospel of John.

Having a revelation of God's love for us releases not only us but those who come in contact with us.

Herod was only interested in a specticle. Jesus was not going to perform for him.

Don't walk away not knowing the saviour's love for you. The decision you make will stay with you for eternity (forever and ever).
