Forever Faithful

Forever, oh Lord, Your word is firmly fixed in the heavenlies. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You have established the earth and it stands fast. Psalm 119:89-90

When I read my bible I see again and again God's encounter with mankind.  The fact that He bothers to want a relationship with us amazes. Our history is replete with mythologies in which the gods live their own lives and endure puny mankind. It would be natural to assume our God is fickle like all created gods but He isn't He is faithful and true.

My bible tells me I have a holy God who looks for faithful relationships, friends. Moses was considered a friend of God. He was flawed, just like us, but he was hungry for more and faithful to his relationship with his God.

Our God does not require perfection but faithful relating, through good and bad. We all have friends, some we have had for many years. We have been through much together. Our God is one such friend who never fails His word. Our expectations of Him may be in error but He does not fail. 

Any relationship is tested, any relationship travels through thick and thin. It is our commitment and faithfulness that changes not our God. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
