Light of the World

I must do the works of Him who sent me while it is still day; night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:4,5

You are the light of the world. A city situated on the top of the hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14

Wake oh sleeper arise! 

Christians can agree that Jesus is the light if the world but many would not know how He can been seen or shown.

In Matthew we are told we are the light of the world. Now there's a conundrum!
How do I be 'the light of the world'?

I know that as I uncloak Christ in me I affect those in my world. They are happier when I am around, their health is better and in general 'life' is better. Why is that?

My bible tells me: 'Christ in me is the hope of glory.' Colossians 1:27

I carry this treasure around inside me. I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. 

Japanese families have butsudans in their homes, little temples in their houses. These temples are pivotal to all the goings on in the home.

I have a temple within me where I worship. The key is what I worship. I cannot worship self effort or self opinion but I must worship the great I AM, king of kings and Lord of Lords.

As I learn to worship the One true God and He soaks all I am and do in His glory then I am a light that shines.

I love knowing that when I enter a dark room I can reach for the switch and turn on the light. There is comfort there. 

Now I am a light and I can bring comfort, peace, answers, truth, righteousness, healing.

Know who you are and switch on the light! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
