The End??

There were also women looking on from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Jose, and Salome. When it was already evening, because it was preparation day (that is the day before the Sabbath), Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Sanhedrin who was himself looking forward to the kingdom of God, came and boldly went in to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body. Pilate was surprised that He was already dead.
After he bought some fine linen, Joseph took Jesus down and wrapped Him in the linen. Then He placed Him in a tomb cut out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the entrance to the tomb. Now Mary Magdalene and Mary the Moree of Joses were watching where He was placed. Mark 16:40; 42-44; 46,47

Jesus died in six hours. Other took days to die. Pilate was surprised because of this fact.

Although most of the disciples had ran away the women who had supported Jesus were there to re end and watched all that transpired. After the Sabbath they would return.

Joseph, up to this point, had been a secretive follower, now he displayed his loyalty. This shows not all the Sanhedrin were in agreement about Jesus' guilt. I am sure he would have had his own share of guilt for not declaring his faith sooner.

I have had moments when unsure how to declare my faith, I did nothing and others when I boldly spoke the truth. Throughout my Christian walk I have strived for a bold faith and am still in my quest for more boldness.

We do not read about the grief of these players but I am sure the women felt deeply and Jospeh, having not been bold enough to declare his faith to the Sanhedrin, would also have been struggling.

Grief is real and affects us all differently. After the death of my father my mum said that grief would come on her suddenly by surprise when she saw or heard something that brought back memories. Mum and dad were married for nearly 50 years when dad died.

Yesterday mum saw her first cousin of 76 years buried. Mum had grieved over the week we waited for the burial and again yesterday. I had not processed mine until yesterday afternoon and mum was a great help. She, in fact came out shopping with me as I endeavored to deal with mine.

I awoke at 3am and went to The Lord for He alone could handle it. He is good! But in human terms my mum has been tops and I greatly appreciate her. Thanks mum!
