One Heart and One Mind

Now the large group of those who believed were of one heart and mind. Acts 4:32

If we as Christians allow the Holy Spirit to lead then we will naturally be of one heart and one mind, His mind.

When we lay down our lives for the gospel then petty ideals and rivalries are gone. It is only when I am intent on being ME first, second and third that I lose and so does the lost and my church family.

The Holy Spirit knows best, He is the counsellor, the guide, not me. I only know what He shows me and if I claim anything in myself then I am vain and out of step.

We can do much when He is God and we are servants. We can do little when we are god and He is servant.

The early church were so much of one heart and mind, they sold possessions and shared them out so that none lacked.

What is He saying? Where is He going? Time is short! what will you do?

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
