Can God DO it?

God said to Abraham, "As for your wife Sarai, do not call her Sarai, for Sarah will be her name. I will bless her; indeed, I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she will produce nations; kings of peoples will come from her." Genesis 17:15,16

Golly! God can be slow! why did he take so long to provide the promised son? Perhaps Abraham and Sarah were not ready until this time.

I look at my own life and know the desires I have deep within and God is taking His own sweet time. Why? I was not ready yesterday let alone a year ago for the plan He has for me. I would have settled for a less than experience and He wants a great one.

My challenge is the same as Abraham's, Can God use a 60 year old woman to bring all this to pass. Obviously He does not look on the external but rather His own ability to perform. I must remind myself that if he can use a bunch of rattling bones (Ezekiel 37) and put flesh on them and raise them to life I am sure He can use me just as I am. Amen!

This morning I am awake early and asking for the Holy Spirit's help today. I want the words of my moth to bless and bring life. As I pray He gives me vision for another step. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
