Circumstances and Faith

Early in the morning Abraham got up, took bread and a water skin, put them on Hagar's shoulders, and sent her and the boy away. she left and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba. When the water in the skin was gone, she left the boy under one of the bushes. Then she went and sat down nearby, about a bow shot away, for she said, "I can't bear to watch the boy die!" So as she sat nearby, she wept loudly.
God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, "What's wrong Hagar? Don't be afraid, for God has heard the voice of the boy from the place where he is. Get up, help the boy up, and support him, for I will make him a great nation." Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. so she went and filled the water skin and gave the boy a drink. Genesis 21:14-19

This is the second time God had spoken to Hagar about her son. The first was when she ran away after Sarah had treated her roughly because she, Hagar, had fallen pregnant and had despised her mistress. Now her son had done the same thing to Isaac. even though they had fallen foul of Sarah God had a plan for Ishmael.

Hagar had given up hope and had wandered around in the desert. However, God had provided a well, she could not see the provision until God opened her eyes.

Despair can blind us to out provision. Hagar appears to have given up even before she started out. God has His provision in place, we just need to trust Him. Amen!

It is important we keep our eyes on the Lord for His opinion and our circumstances rarely agree. Amen!

Today was a test day. This morning I discovered that I would not have access to my brother's car and I needed to transport his tall ladder to my new office to help paint. While buying paint this morning there was a colleague from church and when he discovered my need he took it upon himself to take the ladder to my office for me. Praise God! This was just the beginning. soon I received a message that a client's business I was depending on was going to be delayed and perhaps not even accepted, for medical reasons. Next one of my staff was obviously having problems being at the office and I saw he was greatly stressed, so I let him go. Next the sink was not plumbed in. the list went on.

I went to the church on the way home to collect more things for the painting, I asked for prayer and messaged two good friends and asked for prayer.

Now I cannot get my emails as my password needs to change and the programme wont accept my password. Praise God!

No matter what happens, God is still in charge. Amen!
