Death Born to Be Defeated by Obedience

The Lord God said, "Since man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil, he must not reach out, take from the tree of life, eat, and live forever." So The Lord God sent him away from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. He drove man out and stationed the cherubim and the flaming, whirling sword east of the garden of Eden to guard the way to the tree of life." Genesis 3:22-24

The tree of life was to guarantee eternal life. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil was His tree, which only He could partake of.  Knowledge of good and evil required a special being, one that would not be corrupted by it, one that could handle it. Adam and Eve were created beings and the fact that they had been deceived by evil showed they were not fit to handle it.

I watched an excellent message by Pastor TD Jakes yesterday. He was saying that God's power is His and not to be used by me for my own gain. I need to know where the power of God operates in my life and not corrupt it for earthly gain. I have never heard such a message before. The message called for accountability.

Adam and Eve were accountable for the power of eternal life given to them. They could not use it for corrupt means, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

I am accountable to my God for the eternal life I now have in Him. Believing for what is not mine, not a good idea. But so is believing that what is mine, is someone else's is also not a good idea. I must walk humbly before my God knowing what he has called me to and walking in it, exactly, not trying to poach someone else's life.

My feelings condemn me often, my task this year is to push those feelings into the response bucket and not the lead bucket. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. My God sees me with the seed of greatness inside. I have a wonderous task before me, it is exciting. I will not look too far ahead but walk with the path before me, for it leads somewhere very good. Amen!

Thank you Lord for what is mine, I call it into being. Amen!
