Moving in God

The Lord said to Abram:
"Go out from your land, your relatives, and your father's house to the land I will show you.
I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you.
I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you, I will curse those who treat you with contempt,
And all the peoples of the earth will be blessed through you.
So Abram went, as The Lord had told him, and Lot went with him.
Abram was 75 years old when he left Haran. Genesis 12:1-4

I am ready to go. How about you? In may be 20kms away, 100kms away or further but what does it matter? Abram was secure in The Lord.

I returned home to the land of my fathers for a time to completely heal and am now ready for an adventure. Abram went on an adventure. He met people he had never met before, he experiences things he had never experienced before, all because he went.

I don't quite know how this will unfold as I have just signed a 12 month lease on an office building and signed up two new staff. Perhaps this year will prepare me to go, make provision for the journey, God only knows. How long was it before Abram said "Yes," to going and actually went? What sort of preparation is required?

I knew I had to deal with why I needed to be close to family, I think you would call it loneliness but God is forever tipping me out. My brother and mother are thinking of moving and leaving me here so this seems to be what God does. Now I can go where I want to be, not feel the need to be. My children all moved to Brisbane and that was a 'tip' experience when I was down in Wodonga Victoria. Now the 'tip' is happening again and quite frankly I rejoice. I want to discover where home is for me, a place I love to be, my promised land.

Abram probably was not settled in Haran, where he and his father had moved and was, like me, ready for next. I want to be near the coast as I love the sea and want to do more diving. Let the future begin!
