The Best Answer

So when they had come together, they asked Him, " Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?" He said to them, It is not for you to know times or periods that the Father has set by His own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:6-8

When my marriage first fell apart my emotions wanted to dictate how things should go. I had my own ideas on how God could bless me but found He had different plans.

Every home He gave me was a blessing. Every person who came into my world was a blessing, even the difficult ones. I am stepping into my future and am amazed how He has prepared the way. All things, all things, all things have worked together for my good.

The disciples wanted Jesus to restore Israel and woop the Romans, but that was not he plan.

We can be frustrated, incredibly frustrated, by not getting things our own way. When we are wounded, we particularly want to dictate how our healing should take place, but we are wrong.

When I was a nurse I learned about granulated healing. A wound that was deep would be left open so that the skin below would granulate and fill the space. The ideal was to stitch over the top but all that would do would cause problems and room for infection or subsequent breakdown of the healing process.

When my son was 17 he developed a pionidal sinus between his buttock. A hair grows inward and creates a nasty infection that becomes very painful. Several operations later Jarrod had a wound that was left open to granulate. By this time he was in year 12. How he managed to finish year 12 and matriculated was a miracle in itself.

Jesus wanted the disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit's clothing of power. Then, He said, they would go into all the world with the gospel, and they did.

I am now at a place in my life where I am able to say: " Holy Spirit I trust You! I will do my bit (obey Your promptings) and allow You to do great stuff." Right now as I do this, He does come through, He is changing lives, and He is working miracles. I am watching it all unfold. Awesome!
