God's Hand of Blessing

Joseph found favour in his master's sight and became his personal attendant. Potiphar also put him in charge of his household and placed all that he owned under his authority. From the time that he put him in charge of his household and all that he owned, The Lord blessed the Egyptian's house because of Joseph. The Lord's blessing was on all that he owned, in his house and in his fields. He left all that he owned under Joseph's authority; he did not concern himself wih anything except the food he ate. Genesis 39:1-6

We can see a pattern here. When God's hand is on someone then even though they may have been themselves enslaved by forces beyond their control, God blesses the house in which they serve.

We can look at our own circumstances with narrow vision at times and assume God has forsaken us when all that is happening obscures the big picture. Yet here Gkd was working in Joseph but blessing his master at the same time. Joseph could well have said, "What about me? Where is my house, why am I in Egypt away from those who love me?" We focus too much on what we want and neglect the weightier element of character development. God loves us but wants us to grow up into the image of Christ and we only need to read the gospels about Christ to see what manner of man he was.

I can see God's hand on me and love the fact that His hand is on me. I am loving His moulding, I love where I am going in Him. Soon I will post a photo of my new home, it is lovely! It is in a different part of town and it is where I want to be. In the Spirit I sense that God has marked off this territory and this is mine. I can see safe borders here, presence here and contentment here.

If we look at what our flesh wants we can hurt ourselves with wrong expectations, but if we look at Him then we are content, He is doing something mighty in us, if we let Him. For He is good, so good, so good!!!!!
