The Power of the Gospel

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God's power for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. For in it God's righteousness is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: the righteous will live by faith. Romans 1:16,17

Ah! A reprieve! I have just laboured through the first 5 books of the bible and thought I would choke on the exact requirements of the Law. As Paul the apostle was a Pharisee above all Pharisees at one time, who better to bring the gospel out of the darkness. I am in Romans to bathe in the freedom of the gospel, the good news is good news indeed. Amen!

God's righteousness is revealed from faith to faith. The Christian walk is all about faith, it is a progressive work, daily faith must be applied.

The phrase: the just (righteous) will live by faith comes from Habkkuk 2:4 and it is God speaking to Habakkuk. We cannot be righteous without faith, it is impossible. The reason being that if we do not live in faith we are reliant on our own goodness and that is not good enough. The Christian life must be lived in reliance on God's goodness alone.

Once we 'get it', and learn to live in Him, there is rest, grace and peace. Until we 'get it,' we are forever striving and failing miserably either suffering guilt or condemnation after a pride crash or unworthiness of not being able, at all.

Faith is the only way, the way of freedom, the path of true righteousnes. Amen!

Praise God for Jesus! I am soooooo grateful, so, so grateful!

Gid's power is here! Amen!
