His Word is True

For men swear by something greater than themselves, and for them a confirming oath ends every dispute. Because God wanted to show His in unchanging purpose even more clearly to the heirs of promise, He guaranteed it with an oath, so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us. We have this hope as an anchor for our lives, safe and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because He has become a high priest forever in the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:16-20

Gid's promises beg proving and this won't happen unless we choose to believe and stand in them until they come to pass.

Abraham was tested in His faith. Would God provide an heir? God had said He would, but why the delay? What was the purpose of delay? Just as after Issac was born and a young man God tested Abraham again by asking him to sacrifice his son. Before Issac was born God was testing Abraham. Would this man stand firm and believe, against all odds that God would provide? Even before the seed was born Abraham had to lay down His son. God's provision cannot be the only reason we believe. There has to be more.

I know who I am in Christ and I know that I am what He says I am even though my circumstances call me a liar. I see my future yet my present mocks me. I must look to Him in my future and stand firm and believe. Amen!

God is good and has displayed his charcter down through time, again an again, He does not change and He is my provider. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
