A Mighty Sign

On the day The Lord  gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, Joshua spoke to The Lord in the presence of Israel:
"Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and moon, over the valley of Aijalon."
And the sun stood still and the moon stopped until the nation took vengeance on its enemies.
Isn't this written in the Book of Jashar?
So the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed it's setting almost a full day.
There has been no day like it before or since, when The Lord listened to the voice of a man, because The Lord fought for Israel. Then Joshua and all Israel with him returned to the camp at Gilgal. Joshua 10:12-15

Joshua had faith to make this command. I have experienced similar, mind you I have not prayed for the sun to stop still, that is awesome. I have prayed weather related prayers and seen answers. These prayers come from deep in my carer(my spirit). Deep love motivates it. It seems when I am grieved for people my prayers are heard.

This would have given Joshua great 'face' as the Japanese call it, in the presence of his people.

Joshua definitely was not Moses, he is a different man, but a very believeable and followable leader.

I am grateful for him, he teaches me how to lead. Amen!

I am loving God's relationship with Joshua, I can see Him smiling and saying: "That's my boy!"

Today I go to Moree to see clients who need loving, they have been neglected. Yesterday I spent time with a young woman who needs loving, she has been neglected. Real love is very hard to find. It is in Christ and when you are pickled in it you need to flavor lives around you.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
