Darius Honours God
Then King Darius wrote to those of every people, nation, and language who lived in all the earth: "May your prosperity abound. I issue a decree that in all my royal dominion, people must tremble in fear before the God of Daniel:
For He is the living God,
And He endures forever;
His Kingdom will never be destroyed,
And His dominion has no end.
He rescues and delivers;
He performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth,
For He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions." Daniel 6:25-27
What a decree! What a freedom for the Jews in captivity! This proclamation honoured God and Daniel and his people but did not free them from captivity.
God was using His people in a foreign land yet they longed to return. Whist in captivity they were instruments for God to show Himself strong on behalf of those who loved Him. He was seen as a mighty God, the greatest of all gods.
He is good and stirring His people to go into foreign lands for His purposes. These people will reside in foreign lands as missionaries but not be a part of those people but a light in the darkness. I have three friends who have gone out for the sake of the gospel and more who go on short trips. Our God loves these people and those they go to. He wants His light to shine. Amen!
My role is to pray and support in any way I can. Amen!
