God's Plan is Greater

As soon as it was morning, the chief priests had a meeting with the elders, scribes and the whole Sanhedrin. After tying Jesus up, they led Him away and handed Him over to Pilate.
So Pilate asked Him, "Are you the King if the Jews?"
He answered him, "You have said it."
An the chief priests began to accuse Him of many things. Then Pilate questioned Him again, "Are you not answering anything? Look how many things they accuse You of!"
But Jesus still did not answer anything, so Pilate was amazed. Mark 15:1-5

This was the first time Pilate met Jesus and had a conversation with Him. Anyone else would rise to their defense when falsely accused. Jesus did not. The only question He answered was: 'Are you King of the Jews?' The gospel of John adds more: Pilate said to Jesus, "You're not talking to me? Don't you know that I have authority to release you and the authority to crucify you?"
Jesus replied, "You would have no authority over Me at all if it hadn't been given you from above." John 19:10,11

If we only look at the betrayal, the evil and the cowardice of the various players we become distraught. However, the Father was using all of these ingredients to bring about a result that He knew would benefit all of them, eternal salvation through the sacrifice of His Son.

At present we are seeing rampant evil in IRAq as the Islamic group ISIS senselessly slaughters innocent people. I am reading on Facebook that people are feeling powerless to help. This is wrong. We have the power of God on our side and we can devout ourselves to prayer.

I woke in the night and was drawn into prayer, I knew I was a part of a groundswell in the world. We will see God's glory if we keep our eyes on Him. Then we must do what He leads us to do.

Myself I have written to my PM and given to a disaster relief fund. These are things I can do but the most powerful things I am able to do is pray. Prayer is mighty, prayer is calling on the God of heaven to reveal Himself to these refugees caught on the mountain top. Pray stirs up the responsibility of government to aid, prayer confuses the enemy.

Jesus knew His Father and looked to Him. He was and is the author of our faith, He is the sustainer, the prospector, the reward. Amen! I must go to Him and trust Him for the outcome.
