The Fourth Beast

Then I wanted to know the true meaning of the fourth beast, the one different from all the others, extremely terrifying, with iron teeth and bronze claws, devouring, crushing, and trampling with its feet whatever was left. I also wanted to know about the 10 horns on its head and about the other horn that came up, before which three fell- the horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke arrogantly, and that was more visible than the others. As I was watching this horn waged war against the holy ones and was prevailing over them until the Ancient of Days arrived and a judgement was given in favour of the holy ones of the Most High, for the time had come, and the holy ones took possession of the kingdom. Daniel 7:19-22

Daniel persisted and wanted to know. The horror of the actions of the fourth beast terrified him. Yet again we see, a judgement was given in favour of the holy ones.

As to who the holy ones are we can assume this refers to God's people, whether during the Roman dominion, under which God's people suffered terribly, or whether a later time. Does it matter? Do we need to know every detail exactly or are we willing to trust our Lord? We win! Yes we have a vicious, cruel enemy who hates us be we serve a God who rules over all.

Many still suffer. We do not know the half of all who are suffering in closed countries. We know enough about the suffering we see. The suffering of the Jewish people under Hitler was horrible. The mass of people who were exterminated by a maniac. Yet new maniacs have arisen and continue to persecute God's people.

What can we do? Pray fervently and give up our selfish ease. Start to ask the Father for His heart and pray. Our prayers open doors, covers and hides God's people. Prayer works. Don't be deceived into believing your prayers are ineffective. That is a lie! Amen!
