The Messenger

In the third year of Cyrus, king of Persia, message was revealed to Daniel, who was named Belteshazzar.
The message was true and about a great conflict. He understood the message and had understanding of the vision.
In those days I, Daniel was mourning for three weeks.  I didn't eat any rich food, no meat or wine entered my mouth, and I didn't put any oil on my body until the three weeks were over. On the 24th day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river, the Tigris, I looked up, and there was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of gold from Uphaz around his waist. His body was like topaz, his face like the brilliance of lightening, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and feet like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words like a sound of the multitude. Daniel 10:1-6

This sounds like Jesus yet Jesus would not have needed Michael the Arc
Angel to assist him. It could well have been Gabriel or another angel.

Daniel was now 84. Perhaps his mourning was a report of the poor state of those who had gone back to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple. They were being opposed by the Samaritans.

Daniel is again interceding for his people and again The Lord visits him with a vision.

Daniel was with others but they did not see what he saw, however a great terror overcame them and they fled for cover. Daniel was left pale and powerless, falling into a deep sleep with his face to the ground.

The angel said to him: "Daniel you are a man treasured by God. Understand the words that I am saying to you. Stand up on your feet, for I have now been sent to you."
Daniel stood trembling.

The angel then goes on to tell Daniel that the moment he started praying an answer was sent but that the angel had been resisted by the prince of Persia (a demon lord) and Michael had to go and help the angel get through.

God's message will always get through. As in modern technology we can all carry a portable device and not need to rely on public phone booths, every believer now carries the Holy Spirit inside and He communicates to us, encourages us, admonishes us, loves us. Although God still sends His angels we are no longer alone. Amen!

Evil is pouring out on the earth at present and if we look at it we will become afraid. However, we must look at The Lord and see it from His perspective. What is He doing, more importantly. Amen! Let is be a part of the answer, the standard raised against the enemy.
