When Will He Return?

Now concerning that day or hour, no one knows- neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son- except the Father. Watch! Be alert! It is like a man on a journey, who left his house,gave authority to his slaves, gave each one his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to be alert.
Therefore be alert, since you do not know when the master of the house is coming- whether in the evening or at midnight or at the crowing of the rooster or early in te morning. Otherwise, he might come suddenly and find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to everyone: Be alert!" Mark 13:32-37

The disciples fell asleep in the garden of Gethsame when Jesus had expressly asked them to stay awake. He knew what was about to happen and knew that prayer would sustain them. Yet, they were comfortable in His shadow, He had always protected them. The future would be much different.

I see many complacent and not alert. What does this mean? It means that when trial comes they may not be strong enough to stand.

Trial is on its way to all and at some time in their lives it appears. When it lands on your doorstep what will you do? Will you be ready?

Something greater is coming, the return of Christ. Will He find us ready?

Jesus told many parables about being ready, it was important to Him and should be to me as well.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
